CREW V. U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (BORDER FENCE)

18 Jun 2008 // Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for failure to respond to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by CREW on March 17, 2008. CREW was seeking the expedited processing and release of records concerning the construction of the U.S.-Mexico border fence. DHS failed to respond to CREW's FOIA request within the generally applicable statutory time limit for response to any FOIA request.
